O.K. Here is how.
Familiar with these ? Of course you are.
They are standard petty cash/rent reciepts.

Or, if you will, Example A... You know how they work.
Carbonless, as you write on them two exact duplicates are made. You keep the original. Pink Copy stays in local offices, yellow copy goes to headquarters. Or something like that.
Now imagine casting a vote on a reciept made just like these cash receipts.
They are virtually tamper proof. And you would retain the original proof of your vote. In your own handwriting.
Every vote would automatically produce THREE paper trails.
Yellow copy goes to regional elections boards. Pink Copy stays at local boards. Or, something like that.
Oh, and did I mention they could be printed in every language imaginable? And with pictures?
With simple black and white images not even the illiterate could be disenfranchised.
And... you can print up 200 of them for about 5 bucks. Yes, I said 5 bucks, as in five dollars. The taxpayers would literally save millions.
Put this system in place, and rigging elections would be virtually impossible.

Here is something I just thought about using this system.
As you leave you must let an election official 'certify' your vote and sign your 'reciept'.
They mark a two colum sheet, for this candidate or this one, sign it, and you go on your way.
This in effect would literally become an 'exit poll' it would also visually account for each vote by one official and would serve as what could be known as 'The first count'
Simply counting the colums they checked will serve as the first indication of the count.
The pink copys are counted by hand. This is 'The Second Count'
And finally you hand count each yellow copy. 'The Third count'
All of the tallies should be exact. If two are the same but only one count is off, then the election can still be certified and the problems quickly found.
If two of three counts are off, then you will know right then there is a SERIOUS problem, and again, by cross refrencing 3 paper trails and serial numbers the problem should be identifiable easily.
Or something like that.
